Butterfly project

ILLNESS

Sadness, stillness in the room.
In the middle, a table and a bed.
In the bed, a feverish boy.
His mother sits next to him
with a little book.
She reads him his favorite story
and immediately, the fever subsides.

I'm feeling so good when I read this poem because the boy in the story was sick and when someone reads for him a story and was something so easy to do for someone how is sick.

  1. I like your butterfly! I like how you bordered it with orange, and how you made a house on each wing. Why did you make the windows pink? I can see that the kid is sick, and he's being told a story. Just like in the poem, you made sure that they both matched. Which was pretty important, good job! Why is the little boy sick? Maybe because of the lack of food he's getting, and there's most likely tons of germs in the camps.

  3. Amazing job on your butterfly. I like the way you used a consistent color and design. I also liked how you felt good about reading your book. Was it positive all the time or did it have some negative things involved as well? They way you explained how the boy was sick and negative in the top part of the butterfly and how he got happy and was feeling better because his mom read to him was a great transition to show the effect one person and an act of kindness has on a person. To answer my own question I think there is a negative which was that the boy was sick. Great job on your butterfly fedaa! Hope your person survives!

  4. Your poem is short and yet you still illustrated it well. the colors you used really help distinguish what you drew. are each different pictures different scenes I guess you would say? since you drew different pictures it shows how the kid gets better.

  5. I'm kinda confused on how this relates to the camps. How does it relate? I liked how you showed the mom reading him a story. The poem really explains how the boy feels as he is sick. On your thinglink I agree when you said people drink orange juice when they're sick. Orange was a good color choice.

  7. Your butterfly looks great. I liked how you put a boy on a bed to show his mom reading to him and he's laying in bed. How do you know if he felt better? I think because the child likes when his mom reads to him. The poem starts off with sadness. People are very weak when they're sick. I like how you colored black and red because It shows he is sick and sad.

  8. In the beginning of the poem it sounds like the beginning of every fairy tale.
What do you think about the beginning of the poem Fedaa? I would like to know if the boy survived I hope so because it's sad that people pass and die. I liked your design showing that the boy was in bed while his mom was reading him a book. I have a question is there any more poems written by the same person? Maybe there is but their poems are probably far in the web search almost hidden.

  9. Your butterfly looks nice. I like how your butterfly has people in it but on to of the people there is some captions on what there are saying to each other. I don't get how the little boy gets better after his mom reads him a book. In the poem it says " she reads him his favorite story, and immediately the fever subsides." I think it means that the boy felt calm and loved and when the mom read the book he just felt so much better because he was with his mom.

  11. I think your really thoughtful.what your poem is about you have everything that you drew.I think you should have drew it dark since he is sick. Another thing is that you should write text evidence from your poem. You know the the author might have ,a difficult time ,during that time of period because all of the things they been suffering.

  12. This poem is makes me feel sad and good because when he kid is sick and his mom reads to him he ends up getting better. How does the kid end up getting better? I think the same thing because if I made the other same poem too then I would say the same thing she's says.

  16. I think this poem means that a good mother stays with you through thick and thin. Since this was written during the holocaust, it makes me visualize the room where this took place. Maybe this family was gathered together in an attic struggling to survive. Your drawings are simple but it's a nice butterfly.
